COB LED Strip Lights

COB (chip on board) LED strip lights give a continuous, even line of light with no visible dots. Standard SMD tape has individual LEDs spaced along the strip, which show as bright spots unless the tape sits deep in a diffused profile. COB tape packs its chips under a single phosphor coating, so it looks seamless even in shallow channels, coves and under cabinets.

Our COB tape range

Our 24V COB LED tape draws 5W per metre, is dimmable with a compatible driver, and comes in five colour temperatures from very warm 2400K to daylight 6000K. It's flexible, cuttable and sold per metre, with a 3M self-adhesive backing. Link leads, corner connectors and power input leads let you build runs around corners and across gaps.

Choosing a colour temperature

2400K and 2700K suit living rooms, bedrooms and hospitality. 3000K is the most common choice for kitchens and ceiling coves. 4000K gives clear, neutral light for kitchens, bathrooms and displays, and 6000K suits garages, workshops and utility rooms.

Powering COB tape

You'll need a 24V LED driver sized to the total length, with some headroom. As a guide, a 15W driver covers up to 2.4m, 30W up to 4.8m, 60W up to 9.6m and 100W up to 16m. See our full 24V LED tape strip lights range for drivers and profiles.
